Here is my main menu for my site. Down the side Ive added some buttons which take you to different webpages when clicked. The bit below that is something I did in a tutorial where you can add your name and a comment.
I created the background I used in photoshop using an image of ink dropped into some water. Then rotated a lot using different blending modes like screen and multiply. Then when happy with what its like I then change the hue and saturation on some of the layers making the image have loads of colours. I then flatten the image and play around with the lighting and duplicating the layer with along with the multiply blending mode. Then finally I duplicated the layer and made it black and white. Then created a layer mask and used a black and white gradient to see what sort of effect I could achieve.
Here is my images page, I had to make a table and then place the images I wanted to use into my route folder on the desktop, else they wouldnt work. Then I just dragged and dropped them into the table. The drawings ive used are some of mine that are taken from my facebook page.
Here is my Videos page. To do this I had to create a table, then copy the embed code from the youtube video. Then change the dreamweaver display to 'split' so I can view the code and design. Then click inside my table so i know where in the code i need to place the code. Then just paste where your curser appears in the code. The videos uploaded are mine from YouTube of some of my time lapse drawings.
Here is just a screenshot of my videos working.

Web Technologies
Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver is an Adobe program used to create HTML and mobile apps. It supports web technologies such as CSS, Javascript, also scripting languages like PHP, ASP and more.
Also you have different views inside dreamweaver. You can view the design view or the coding view to edit and make changes to your website. Or you have both open and view the changes you make. Another good thing is, you can view whatever youve made in dreamweaver through your web browser, to see what your site is looking like.
Titanium
Titanium is a platform for developing mobile, tablet, and desktop applications using web technologies. It is one of several phone based application framework solutions allowing web developers to apply existing skills to create native applications for iphone and android. Titanium is sometimes compared to adobe air for developing desktop applications for windows, mac and also linux.

File Compression
JPEG
JPEG is a file type that compresses what ever your saving and also decreases and throw's away a lot of data. If your doing a photoshop drawing or manipulation its probably best not to use this file type. It maybe considered to be used if your using it on a website, but even still there are better file types that can be used for online and webpages. JPEG would probably be the best quality for its file size for webpages.
GIFF
Giff file format would be best used when your dealing with an image that is mostly made up of block colours. because it cant really handle gradients, but it can handle low levels of transparency, PNG is mainly used for transparency.
PNG
PNG isnt as good quality as JPEG but it handles files with transparency really well, there isnt a difference from the original file and the saved output of a PNG and transparency. But the file size seems to be a lot bigger from JPEG on PNG-24. PNG 8 decreases the file size quite a lot but also decreases the overall quality of your image, it also gives you the option to choose between how much colours your want to use on your image, highest is 256 and the lowest is 2. Decreasing this also lowers your file size and overall quality.

Dreamweaver
Firstly we created a new HTML and saved it as index in a folder on out desktop called mainsite, with dreamweaver you have to keep everything you put into your website in one folder together because else none of it will work.
There is the folder with everything in on my desktop.
This is a different view layout you can choose to have, the left is the code view, so you can change everything through coding or just see what the code looks like when you add new things to your site. On the right is the design view, so you can see what your webpage will look like.
Here ive just added 3 titles which you can click on to take you to different pages. To do this you have to create a new document, call it whatever page it will be then save it in your mainsite folder on your desktop. Then go back to your main page and click on the text you wish to use for your link, then on the link tap at the bottom click and drag to the page you want it to go to.
Here I addd a picture by creating a table then dragging an image into that table.

research
on the left you have the webpage for YouTube on Google chrome and on the right is the same page but on a smartphone.
The first things I notice is that there is hardly anything displayed on the mobiles version accept a few from subscriptions and one recommended and the top favourite. Whereas on the chrome version there are quite a few ads, loads of video recommendations, on the left you have your subscriptions, different categories and recommended channels. Also on the top you have an option for TV shows, or for you to upload your own stuff, also you have access to your own channel. Also the amount of videos shown per page is a lot smaller.
Here is a sceenshot of both the mobile and the internet version of youtube next to eachother. As you can see there is hardly anything on the mobile version. It has the search bar with a few videos below it, along with sign in button, that is basically it. As the target audience is roughly 10 - 30, but mostly teenagers will use this sight, therefore the suggestions for videos will usually be of a comedy nature. After you sign in though it will look at what you tend to watch the most and post similar videos on your suggestions list.
The youtube app was launched in 2005, it is the second most popular website with 790 unique monthly vistitors.

Twitter is a social network site which takes the concept of the facebook status and calls it 'Tweets'. A tweet uses the same idea as a facebook status. Tweets would be used when someone wants to let everyone know what there up to, or something that comes to mind, for example: 'I love this band, there awsome!#takethat'. Once youve set a tweet, your friends can then see it and choose to comment it, favourite it, or retweet it. Retweeting is one someone see's a tweet that they like and want other people to see it, so they will retweet it to there followers (friends are called followers on twitter). You can also send a direct tweet to someone to ask them something which everyone else will be able to see. the age range of people that uses twitter the most was 35 - 44 which was nearly 30% and teenagers where about half of this at 17%
Here is a side by side view of the twitter on the internet and the mobile version of it. They both have the same colour sceme and similar lay out. The only thing the mobile version doesnt have is the suggested people to follow on the left hand side and the worldwide trending below it. other than those things there pretty much the same, i think the mobile version has a different type face as well.
they've taken away most of the visuals and made it sort of boring in a way, because they've removed the clouds in the background, like they've put in, only what they need to put in, and the same with youtube.
twitter was the third largest social networking site in jan 2009, its previous rank was 22.
Ebay
Obviously the first things you notice are there is a lot less things on the mobile version, like all the adverts, categories, and auctions that are recommended have all gone. Also the 'popular on ebay' has gone as well. Another that has gone is the 'ebay stories' which is on the bottem right of the webpage version. It seems as if on the mobile version that they have thrown away all the stuff that you dont really need to use ebay for what its for, an auction website, and instead giving you everything you would need to use ebay. For example 'my ebay' which when clicked on shows you all the items your watching, things you've sold or won and favourite sellers etc.
A good thing that they kept in the mobile version is the ability to still sell things on there site and you get all the options you would on a normal website. So if your on the go, or at home, you can still take photos of your item, upload them and create an auction just as you would on the webpage.
I think the target audience for the web app would probably be people from 18 - 60 because you can get all sorts of things on ebay theres such a wide range. It depends what your looking for, I think any older person that has an android would try out the ebay app at some point if there used to using ebay. But I would say anyone over the age of 60 would probably stick the webpage version of ebay because they would find it much simpler as its on a pc and there used to it. But I think the majority of the age range who would mostly use the app would range from 18 and into there early 50's because these are the sorts of people who would have android phones and are most likely looking on ebay a lot more than OAP's.
I also think that the way the the mobile version of ebay looks is actually pretty good compared to most other mobile apps like Youtube. The background has a blue gradient and so do the buttons being used. They've kept the original Ebay logo without having to change anything.

Steam
Steam is a program used to buy and download games from the internet, you can also download demos. Also they do deals when its christmas etc where you can download a whole group of a companys best games or most popular ones they've made. Some games you buy in shops these days will make you download steam and install it through that, or you can download the games through steam, but then you wont have the disk. You can also add your friends through steam and chat with them, or invite them to the game your playing.
Webpage
As you can see, the mobile version is actually really similar, they've done a really good job in keeping a lot of steams features in the mobile app. One thing I thought they would get rid of is the scrolling images of games and latest deals because of hardware etc. But you can see that they have got rid of a few advertisements like the one in the top right of the webpage version, also the 'community activity' section on the bottom right doesn't seem to be in the mobile version. I think these things have been removed because they don't need to be in the program to be able to use it for what its for. They seem to have gotten rid of the 'Genre' section too, maybe because you dont really need it if you have a search tab. They've just kept in all the important things you need like your friends lists, and the lists of popular games and the special deals that are on.
Although you cant buy the games and play them on you phone, or play the games you already have on your steam account, this app just allows you to view what deals there are or who's online, basically just to keep up to date with steam.
I think the audience that would use this app is mostly the ages between 11 and 25 because these are the kind of people who would most likely play games. Older people may play the games on steam, but on there computer, I dont think they would bother with getting the app because they wouldn't be as interested in games or keeping up to date with it as younger people would.
